Smart Home today announced that Chief Information Officer Joy
Durling is a Utah
Business Magazine CXO of the Year honoree. Durling is
recognized for her visionary technology leadership and innovation in
driving the growth and scale of a leading smart home company.

Durling oversees all business and operations technologies at Vivint, as
well as the enablement of new go-to-market strategies and channels. Her
team of engineers develop technology that powers every interaction with
Vivint customers to provide an exceptional smart home experience. With
her visionary leadership, Durling dramatically increased the company’s
ability to scale and support new initiatives as the company surpassed $1
billion in revenue in 2018.
Durling joined Vivint in 2017 after 12 years in leadership roles at
Adobe where she was a vice president and a strategic advisor to the
chief technology officer. Before Adobe, she served in various roles at
Andersen Business Consulting where she focused on sales, marketing and
operational technology improvement projects for several Fortune 500 tech
companies, including Apple, Microsoft and Sun Microsystems. Durling has
a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was a Division I All American
Athlete and a three-time national champion in field hockey.
Utah Business recognized Durling and the other 2019 honorees at an
awards ceremony at The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. Durling is
