OnePlus confirmed a year ago that it will be entering a new product category — TVs. The smartphone maker said that it will be launching its first TV in 2019. The Chinese company has revealed the name of its first TV. In a post on its forum, OnePlus revealed what its first TV will be called OnePlus TV. It also revealed the logo of the product line up.

Interestingly, the company came up with this name after a year-long competition (OnePlus TV: You Name it contest) of letting fans decide what should be called.

“It’s been almost a year since we posted our TV naming competition in the forum, and now it’s time to announce our final decision on the TV project’s name and logo. We’re so excited to share this news with you at the first place before everyone else. Please welcome the “OnePlus TV!,” mentioned the forum post.

However, as per OnePlus, this name is simple and straight to the point “as we believe there’s no other name that can best represent our value, vision and pride than naming it with our own brand.”

Nothing more was revealed about the TV but it was mentioned that the appliance will have a ‘burdenless’ design philosophy.

The logo revealed in the post is a simple-looking OnePlus’ generic logo with a ‘TV’ written next to it in two monotone shades. “We were inspired by classic geometric progression, which can be seen from so many classic art forms, such the ancient Hindu symbol, the mandala, and the famous ancient Greek temple, Heraion of Argos. And looking closer, you can tell that the we’ve used the same thickness for both logo and the letters to ensure an aesthetics of “symmetry” and “unity”,” added the forum.
